Overview

This document provides is designed to assist you in the setup of your Orion Cloud Backup Platform, powered by Veeam. Please review this article and all the linked resources to complete the setup.

Step 1: Sign up

If you are reading this, it is likely that you have already signed up for the service. If not, you can request a quote here, or by emailing [email protected]. The Stellar representatives will work with you to identify your requirements and tailor a solution to your needs. 

Step 2: Provisioning

After your order is processed, you will receive credentials via encrypted email required to connect your Veeam Instance to the Orion Cloud Backup Platform.

Step 3: Connect

Use the provided URL and credentials to connect Veeam to the Orion Cloud Backup Platform. Video and step-by-step instructions on how to accomplish this can be found here.

Firewall Requirements

In order to connect to Orion Cloud Backup Platform, the following network requirements need to be in place:
Direction
Protocol
Ports
Description
Outbound (Customer premises → Orion)
TCP
6180
VM backup data transport
Outbound (Customer premises → Orion)
UDP
6180
VM backup data transport
Outbound (Customer premises → Orion)
TCP
80, 443
Certificate Revocation List updates and encrypted communications
It is recommended that this traffic be restricted to Orion IP address space.
Should you have any questions or run into any issues, please contact our support team.

Step 4: Create Copy Job

In order to create a backup copy job, you will need to have set up a local backup job first. Please follow our guide on how to create a local backup job.
Then, proceed with setting up the backup copy job using the guide located here.

Complete!

Your setup is now complete and the copy job should be replicating data into your cloud repository. Please subscribe to our status page to receive updates and notifications pertaining to maintenance and/or any other critical communications about our service.
